Shrewsbury – Ben Tartaglia solved the problem of groundhogs stripping his tomato plants clean by laying 2 X 8 planks on sawhorses.

“Groundhogs, (aka woodchucks or whistlepigs) are geniuses when it comes to feeding on vegetable garden offerings,” Tartaglia said. “They can chew through wood or plastic fences. They can even tunnel under obstacles to reach their objective.”

“Apparently, the one ability they lack is climbing onto the elevated planks where the containerized plants are growing,” he added.
