Obit Anthony J. CappucciNorthborough – Anthony J. Cappucci Jr. passed away Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015 at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington after a several-year battle with cancer. He was 71.

He leaves his wife of 45 years, Mary (Jastrebski) Cappucci of Northborough; his siblings, Lawrence Cappucci and his wife Ginny of Cape Coral, Fla., Elizabeth McGaw and her husband Philip of Shirley, Louis Cappucci and his wife Renee of Medfield, and Paul Cappucci and his wife Mary Ellen of Groton; and aunts, uncles, many nieces & nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and cousins.

Born in Banana River Naval Air Station, Florida, Anthony was raised in East Boston and Tewksbury. He graduated from Tewksbury High School and later from Wentworth Institute and Northeastern University. He served overseas in Vietnam during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He moved to Northborough in 2013, and was formerly of Augusta, Ga. and Hilton Head Island, S.C.

He worked as a nuclear engineer for several companies, including the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Savannah River Site, and eventually retiring from Westinghouse Safety Management Solutions.

A member of St. Rose of Lima Parish, he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Calling hours will be held Friday, Aug. 21, from 4-7 p.m., in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St., Northborough. His funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m., in St. Rose of Lima Church, 244 West Main St., Northborough. Burial with military honors will follow in Howard Street Cemetery.
