Obit-Flag_USE-THIS-ONE4Marlborough – Louis L. Gelina, 90, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015 after a short period of failing health. He was the husband of Ruth (Bailey) Gelina, to whom he was married for 65 years.

He was born in Marlborough, the son of the late Louis E. and Amanda (Saucier) Gelina, and lived there all of his life. He was a United States Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the Asian Pacific Theater.

He went on to work as an office equipment repairman/typewriter specialist for the Raytheon Corp. for over 20 years before his retirement.

Mr. Gelina, along with his wife, enjoyed square dancing, traveling, and fishing. His greatest joy though was spending time with his beloved family.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Paul Gelina and his wife Margaret of Pepperell; two daughters, Linda Sinclair and her husband Ron of Charlton and Susan O’Bryan and her husband Michael of Clermont, Fla.; four grandkids; nine great-grandkids; and many great-great-grandkids.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 11 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery of Marlborough. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Tuesday morning, from 9-11 a.m., prior to the service.
