Westborough – Whisky Advocate, America’s leading whisky magazine, recently announced that two of Julio’s Liquors hand-selected whiskies had been chosen to be among the magazine’s top ten highest-rated whiskies. The announcement offered a sneak preview into the issue’s fall 2015 Buying Guide reviews, where the whiskies will be featured.
The mention in Whisky Advocate is just the latest in a long line of achievements for Julio’s Liquors. This past year, the liquor store won the National Whisky Retailer of the Year Award, which is presented by Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky America. It won the same award in 2013 and in 2014. Julio’s Liquors also won The Massachusetts’s Beverage Business’s Retailer of the Year award in 2011. In 2012, Julio’s owner Ryan Maloney became a Market Watch Leader and was inducted into Keepers of the Quaich, a highly exclusive international group of Scotch whisky affiliates.
“We are thrilled to be recognized,” Maloney said. “Our success in recent years has allowed us to expand our reach and influence both nationally and internationally all while thriving here at home in Westborough.”
Maloney’s passion for whisky led him to create the Loch & Key Whisk(e)y Society, a place for whisky lovers to come together to share their passions. The Loch & Key Society hosts a “Whisk(e)y Wednesday” event each week at Julio’s Liquors, where guests may taste and be educated about fine whiskies at no cost.
