Obit Marcia M. EisenhauerMarlborough – Marcia M. (Forbush) Eisenhauer, 79, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late A. Norman and Mabel (Howe) Forbush, and lived there for much of her young life. She also resided in Sudbury and Scottsdale, Ariz.

Marcia was a graduate of Marlborough High School, class of 1953, where she was a standout on the basketball team and was later inducted into the Marlborough High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 1984. She then went on to Vermont Jr. College where she captained the basketball team.

Throughout her entire life, athletics were a passion for Marcia and she remained an avid fan of all the New England sports teams, particularly the Patriots and the Red Sox. She continued to love to bowl and play mahjong even as she got older.

Marcia enjoyed spending her summers at the family cottage in Harwichport where she could live out her greatest joy of being a mother and grandmother to her daughters and grandchildren.

She is survived by five daughters, Lynne Dyer and her husband Bruce of Ashland, Cheryl Eisenhauer Stiles and her husband Michael of San Clemente, Calif., Denise Eisenhauer Smoller and her former spouse Michael of Delray Beach, Fla., Nancy Scornavacco of San Diego, Calif., and Barbara Walker and her husband Michael of Wilmington, N.C.; one brother, Peter Forbush of Marlborough; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Michael Scornavacco.

Her funeral will be held Saturday, Aug. 29, at 10 a.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be held Friday, Aug. 28, from 5-8 p.m.
