Westborough – Norris A. Lukey, 82, a longtime Westborough resident, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 at his home in Quinebaug, Conn.

Born Dec. 24, 1932 in Nemaha, Neb. to Earl and Maria Lukey, Norris was a finish carpenter whose work accents homes all over Westborough and surrounding towns. He loved the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or just taking an evening drive with his wife. Later in life, he discovered a passion for building mountain dulcimers with his friend, Joseph Julian.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, June (Wile) Lukey, and was a devoted father of three: his two daughters, Jan (Joel) Anderson and Betsy (Daniel) O’Hayer, and his son, Jon Lukey, who married Deborah Temple in June 1986. He was a proud and loving grandfather to six grandchildren, David, Jonathan and Tyler Anderson, Therese Lukey, and Maddison and Magdalene O’Hayer; and he was thrilled to welcome his first great-grandchild, Lila Anderson, born May 2, 2014. Also surviving are his sister, Mona Whitten, and his brother, Albert Horn. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Conrad Lukey, and sister Norma Wilson.

Norris was a hardworking man that put his family first in every aspect of life. His spirit and legacy will live on in the skills he passed down and the example of kindness, toughness, and good humor he set for everyone that looked up to him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 5-8 p.m., at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. Members of Siloam Lodge will conduct a Masonic service at 7:45 p.m. A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, at 1 p.m., in Pine Grove Cemetery, South Street, Westborough.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Salvation Army National Headquarters, P.O. Box 269, Alexandria, VA 22314 or at www.salvationarmyusa.org.
