Marlborough – Richard D. “Richie” “Dick” Tremblay died Friday night, Sept. 4, 2015 after a long period of failing health. He was the husband of Paula (Correia) Tremblay, to whom he was married for 50 years.

He was born in Marlborough, the son of the late Manley and Laurette (Richer) Tremblay, and lived here all of his life.

Richie served the city of Marlborough as a member of the Marlborough Fire Department for 33 years, retiring in 2003. He had a love of camping and as a young man he worked for the former Williams Trailer Sales and owned and operated the former Dick’s RV Parts and Repair. After his retirement, he worked with his daughter every day at her embroidery business Stitch This in Marlborough.

He was a member of the former Marlborough Kiwanis Club and a longtime member of the Marlborough Firefighters Relief Association.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Laura Butland and her husband Shawn of Marlborough; four grandsons, Zachary and Matthew Frederick and Thomas and Darren Butland; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 11, at 11 a.m., in the Immaculate Conception Church, 11 Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, Sept. 10, from 5-8 p.m., in the William R. Short and Son Funeral Home (www.shortfuneral.com), 95 West Main St., Marlborough.
