Obit Peter MunroShrewsbury/Hyannis – Peter F. Munro, 49, of Hyannis, formerly of Shrewsbury, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

Peter was born in Worcester in 1965 and raised in Shrewsbury. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School in 1984.

He leaves his son, Nicholas F. Munro of Boston; his mother, Carol A. (Bonardi) Munro of Shrewsbury; three brothers, Gregory S. Munro of Hyannis, Christopher L. Munro and his wife, Maria of Shrewsbury, and J. Vance Munro of Holden; nieces and nephews, Maxwell, Erin, Ava and Chase, all of Shrewsbury; his former wife and mother of Nicholas, Anna M. (DeQuattro) Parsons of South Grafton; and a dear friend of many years, Elizabeth Brady of Shrewsbury. He was predeceased by his father George L. “Larry” Munro Jr. in 2010.

Peter was the founder and proud owner of Barnstable Builders in Hyannis, a business he built with his heart and hands. He remained dedicated to his work and his clients throughout his illness.

He enjoyed being surrounded by people, especially his family, and spent many fishing trips with his father and brothers throughout the years on the Cape and Vineyard. He was a talented drummer and knew his way around a kitchen where you would find him cooking a favorite dish. He was known best for his sense of humor.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Peter’s family Wednesday, Oct. 7, from 5-8 p.m., in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury. A service celebrating Peter’s life will be Thursday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m., in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
